OVERALL AIM AND SUMMARY OF JOB

Manage the Branch profitably and grow the customer base through excellent customer service and providing the right products constantly in a clean, fresh and attractive environment to ensure a pleasant customer experience. Directly responsible for all fresh produces departments.

KRA’s

      Staff Management

  • Train and ensure employees are trained as per their job descriptions.
  • Ensure employees sign their job descriptions and do special performance appraisals the first three months and at designated intervals.
  • Manage discipline, counsel employees and initiate at disciplinary hearings.
  • Ensure that all staff understands that a zero-tolerance approach is applied with regard to the breach of policies, procedures and rules.
  • Draw up work schedules.
  • Ensure branch clocking and scheduling weekly maintained (By every Tuesday)

      Sales Promotion

  • Monitor customer service and ensure immediate corrective action.
  • Personally, do orders for the following, if applicable:

           Bakery

           Takeaway

           Perishables department etc.

  • Inform buying department of all products that do not scan correctly.
  • Ensure promotional posters are in place.
  • Ensure that promotional sheets are available for customers when promotion breaks.

      Merchandising and Housekeeping

  • Ensure that a proper range of products is always available to customers.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of service department equipment.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation of back up freezers.
  • Ensure that heights, gaps and generic flow are maintained on shelves.

      Administration and Sales

  • Make sure production books are filled in and loaded daily, check ordering quantities on production books and sign them off daily to confirm they are correct.
  • Ensure morning inspections are done daily by a group consisting of the following persons: Branch-, Floor- Manager, Branch Admin staff, Supervisors and Trainee Managers.
  • Ensure that GRV’s are done correctly and that no processing is left for the next day.
  • Ensure that claims procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure that waste control documents are filled in correctly and submitted timely.
  • Ensure daily stock takes are done and corrective action plans and feedback given to the RM.
  • Check Turnover vs Budget and Shrinkage daily and take immediate corrective action as required.
  • Ensure that daily sales targets are implemented by the management team.
  • Ensure that double checking is done at Receiving by the management team.

      Risk Control, Health, Safety and Environment (SHE)

  • Ensure that staff complies with Health, Safety and Environment (SHE) Regulations
  • Report any security and risk incidents to the RM.
  • Inspect all areas of the branch in terms of the Health and Safety requirements (e.g. fire points, sharp objects, electrical wiring etc.) Report non-compliance to the RM and ensure corrective action is taken.

      Asset Management 

  • Control and manage all assets of the Company and report any problems to the RM immediately.
  • Ensure proper recording, maintenance and control of all assets.

      General

  • Resolve ad hoc IR problems/queries and where necessary liaise with the RM or HR
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested or assigned.

      Qualifications

  • Grade 12

      Experience

  • Supervisory experience in retail or similar working environment of at least 2 years
