POSITION OVERVIEW

Woermann Brock is seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Manager (RM) to oversee and manage the operations of multiple branches. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring profitability, customer growth, and operational excellence by maintaining effective stock supply, competitive pricing, and a high-standard shopping environment. This role requires strong leadership, financial management, and strategic decision-making to drive business performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRAs)

1. Administration & Financial Management

       Develop the annual business plan and budget for the region in collaboration with Branch Managers (BMs) and Executive Operations.

       Monitor daily turnover vs. budget and shrinkage, taking immediate corrective actions as required, with at least monthly reviews.

       Analyze monthly income statements for all branches, addressing variances in turnover, profit, and expenses.

       Provide financial reports and updates to Executive Operations in line with company policies.

       Optimize stock management by ensuring accurate order quantities, stock control, and working capital management.

       Ensure BMs take immediate corrective actions regarding shrinkage, waste, and claims.

2. Branch Compliance & Operational Standards

Ensure that the following procedures and standards are consistently adhered to at all branches:

       Production sheet procedures are properly followed.

       Daily morning inspections are conducted.

       Daily stock takes are completed, with corrective action plans submitted to the Executive Operations.

       Customer service levels are monitored and maintained, with corrective actions taken as necessary.

       All cash-related procedures are strictly followed, including:

       Cash-ups

       Till pick-ups

       Banking procedures

       Main and till float procedures

       Reconciliations and timely posting

       Communication of financial documentation to Head Office

3. Sales Promotion & Growth

       Ensure that all sales promotions are properly planned, including:

       Advanced product selection

       Stock investment justification

       Turnover and budget projections

       Analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies in collaboration with BMs and Executive Operations.

       Identify and propose new product opportunities to BMs and Executive Operations.

4. Merchandising & Housekeeping

       Train and guide BMs to ensure compliance with company merchandising policies, maintaining an attractive and well-stocked shopping environment.

       Assist BMs with store layout planning and forward cover.

       Ensure a proper range of products is always available to customers.

       Monitor regular and consistent stock rotation.

5. Branch Manager Development & Leadership

       Oversee the training and development of BMs, ensuring they understand and execute their job responsibilities effectively.

       Identify skills shortages and coordinate training programs in collaboration with Executive Operations and HR.

       Manage disciplinary processes involving BMs, providing guidance and initiating disciplinary actions when required.

6. Risk Control, Health, Safety & Environment (SHE)

       Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (SHE) regulations across all branches.

       Review and act on Health & Safety meeting minutes, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and standards upheld.

7. Asset Management

       Ensure BMs effectively manage and maintain company assets, reporting any issues to Executive Operations.

       Oversee the proper recording, maintenance, and control of all company assets at the branch level.

8. Employment Relations & Conflict Resolution

       Foster a positive work environment by promoting sound industrial relations.

       Address and resolve employee conflicts proactively.

9. General Duties

       Conduct regular branch inspections to ensure operational excellence.

       Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education:

       Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)

Experience:

       A minimum of 5 years of branch management experience in retail or a similar working environment, with at least 3 years at a senior management level.

       Extensive experience with financial reporting and documentation.
