OVERALL AIM AND SUMMARY OF JOB

Ensure that the business is grown through efficient and effective stock takes, financial management, correct administration and adherence to policies and procedures.

KRA’s

      CASH AND POINTS OF SALE

  • Report and alert Regional Manager (RM) on concerns regarding:
  • Till shortages.
  • Cash procedural non-compliances.
  • Cash up documents and that all documents are sent to head office.
  • Open till sessions and un-posted recons.
  • Till and receiving overrides.
  • Main float procedures (Float counts end weekly to head office).
  • Petty cash payments and reimbursements.

      STOCK

      Stock counts

  • Verify and report on stock count preparations and performance in accordance with procedures.
  • Plan stock takes in co-ordination with RM.
  • Follow up on discrepancies in terms of deviations and communicate to RM.
  • Update scheduled count items after each stock count. (Items setup as to be counted on the system by branch).
  • Conduct stock count training.
  • Monitor and report on all scheduled counts compliance and count results.
  • Shops post monthly stock take deviations within 36 hours.

      WASTE

  • Gather branch information on write-offs for RM to approve.
  • Monitor and report on all waste write-offs.
  • Gather and submit monthly stock loss action plans.

      ADMINISTRATION

  • Ensure scheduling and schedule maintenance are done by branches on time for RM’s approval.
  • Monitor and report on pricing procedures in branch daily.
  • Monitor and report on various control registers/sheets, including key control, till float control, credit note control etc.
  • Verify and maintain employee clocking on a daily basis.
  • Schedule employees according to the demand over weekends to control cost.
  • Ensure Branches/Business Units honor and implement staff requests as per budgets.

      ANALYSIS AND REPORTING

  • Run and analyze turnover reports daily and provide to the RM.
  • Run and analyze income statements at least once a month and report anomalies to RM.
  • Run and analyze shrinkage reports as required by RM and report on findings to RM.

      SALES PROMOTION

  • Gather weekly branch information on price surveys for the RM to review and forward concerns to Buying.
  • Monitor and report on in branch orders outstanding.
  • Run regional service level reports as required and present anomalies to RM for action.

      GENERAL

  • Attend to any reasonable request made by Executive Management, Directors or Shareholders.
  • Relieve and assist in all areas during periods of absence or crisis.
  • Maintain the Company’s standards and ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.

     JOB AND PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

      Qualifications

  • Grade 12 with mathematics and accounting.
  • A relevant business management qualification will be an added advantage.

       Experience

  • Relevant experience in a similar trading environment of approximately 5 years
  • Extended exposure to financial reporting documentation
