POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a results-driven and customer-focused Sales Manager to oversee sales operations, ensure profitability, and drive customer growth. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, maintain an optimal product range, and create an attractive shopping environment. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to enhance business performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRAs)

1. Sales Promotion

       Ensure stock for promotional events is ordered 14 days in advance and followed up 7 days before the promotion to confirm receipt.

       Oversee the correct removal and replacement of price labels (PI labels) before each promotion.

       Ensure promotional products are clearly identified with shelf talkers.

       Confirm that all promotional posters are displayed correctly.

       Ensure promotional leaflets/sheets are available to customers at the start of each promotion.

       Maintain gondola ends exclusively for promotional lines during promotional periods.

       Report scanning issues to the buying department for immediate resolution.

2. Stock & Merchandising

       Oversee and manage all store stock to ensure optimal availability.

       Ensure stock ordering is done based on sales trends and demand.

       Maintain a well-stocked and properly rotated inventory, including backup freezers.

       Enforce shelf display standards, ensuring correct product heights, gaps, and a seamless generic flow.

3. Administration

       Ensure daily production sheets are accurately completed and uploaded.

       Verify and sign off on production order quantities daily to confirm accuracy.

       Conduct morning inspections every day to ensure operational compliance.

4. Business Unit Growth & Strategy

       Assist in the development of the annual budget, ensuring proper implementation, control, and review.

       Monitor and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain financial health.

       Conduct regular price and customer surveys, using insights to develop corrective strategies and set growth targets.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education:

       Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)

Experience:

       5–7 years of relevant experience in a retail or similar trading environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

       Exposure to financial reporting and documentation.
